I saw and heard you read at Moka House in Victoria last night. The second to last poem was so amazing I got shivers. Thank you for sharing your writing about breaking away from your community of origin. I am writing about my own breaking away from my family of origin in fiction, my first novel. I am letting it tell me how to write it, and just getting into research with it.
It helps to see others who are sharing their voices about breaking away, going a new direction. I loved also your poem about bouncing off he walls to rock music, the freedom and space for your own voice to come out that it allowed you. I think that one is the poem I will remember your reading by.
